Dog Friendly

Dogs love it here at Back of Beyond. Each dog arriving at the park will receive a ‘doggy welcome pack’ with some treats and poo bags.

There’s a large and secure dog walking area within the park – probably one of the most extensive private dog walks of any caravan or camping site in Dorset.

With 18 acres of private woodland,  you can let your dog wander, dash around and explore off the lead, giving them plenty of exercise in a safe and secure environment.

And don’t worry if they get a bit muddy or like to roll in the smelly stuff – there’s a Dog Wash station where you can give them a hot shower!

In our shop and bar, we sell a variety of dog treats including our “a la bark” delicacies of pigs’ ears, cows horns and chicken feet.

Please respect the other guests

We welcome well behaved dogs and we trust their owners to be respectful to the other guests. Dogs must be quiet and under control, especially around the pitches. Please keep dogs on the lead while in the caravan parking area at all times. Dogs are not allowed in the Site of Special Scientific Interest, around the fishing lakes or in the river on our site.

We know that we can rely you to help maintain the woodland and parkland by cleaning up after your dog, using the dog waste bins provided. Free poo bags and treats are provided in reception.

Visit our reception to treat your dog to a nutritious dog ice cream!

Details of local vets are also available in reception.

You can bring up to 2 dogs to stay in a dog-friendly glamping unit. For touring and camping, you may be able to bring more than two dogs if you contact us first.

Local walks, dog friendly beaches and places of interest

There are many wonderful dog walks nearby. In addition to the New Forest and local country parks, there are headlands, cliff tops and beaches.

Dogs are welcome all year round on Bournemouth Beaches, however between 1 May and 30 September they must be kept on a lead on the promenades and paths at all times and can only be exercised on certain sections of beach.
