Accessibility Statement

Introduction

Our park is set within woodland and natural surroundings in Dorset. While this creates a peaceful and natural environment, it also means some areas include uneven ground, gravel paths and natural surfaces. We aim to provide clear and honest information so guests can decide whether our facilities are suitable for their individual needs before booking.

If you have any accessibility questions before your stay, please contact us and we will be happy to help.

Paths around the park include:

  • Tarmac areas
  • Grass areas

Some gravel paths may be difficult for wheelchair users or guests with limited mobility.

The park is intentionally low‑lit at night to preserve the natural environment and dark skies. Guests are advised to bring a torch when moving around after dark.

Visual Impairments

We aim to support guests with visual impairments, wherever possible.

  • Some buildings include colour contrast between doors, walls and frames to help identify entrances
  • The park has very low lighting at night to preserve the dark skies
  • Guests may wish to bring a torch or headlamp for moving around the park after dark
  • Written information can be provided in large print upon request
  • Staff are happy to assist guests with orientation around the park on arrival

Hearing Impairments

  • Staff are happy to communicate via written information or email if preferred
  • Important safety and park information is provided in written format within the Welcome Pack – it can also be accessed via our website’s chatbot ‘Muswell’
  • Mobile phone reception across most of the park is generally good depending on network provider

Neurodiverse Guests and Sensory Needs

Back of Beyond is a member of the Tranquil Parks group and is known for its peaceful environment.

  • Quiet hours help maintain a calm atmosphere
  • Wildlife lake areas provide particularly quiet spaces
  • The park has minimal artificial lighting and low background noise

Assistance Dogs

Registered assistance dogs are welcome throughout the park.

  • Water bowls can be provided on request
  • Guests are asked to clean up after their dogs

Dietary Requirements and Allergies

We aim to support guests with dietary requirements wherever possible.

• Some of the food vendors and caterers who visit the park offer vegetarian and gluten-free options.
• As vendors may vary during the season, guests with specific dietary requirements are encouraged to check directly with the caterer on the day regarding ingredients and allergen information.

Bedding and Allergy Information

To support guests with allergies:

• Feather bedding is not used in our glamping accommodation.
• Guests with specific allergies may wish to bring their own bedding or pillows for additional comfort.
• The park is located within a natural woodland environment, so guests may encounter pollen, grasses and other natural allergens during their stay.

Dogs and Pet Allergies

Back of Beyond is a dog-friendly park, and dogs are welcome throughout most areas of the site.

All of our glamping accommodation is dog-friendly, and many of our guests bring their dogs to enjoy the woodland surroundings and nearby countryside.

While all accommodation is thoroughly cleaned between stays, guests with dog allergies should be aware that dogs may have previously stayed in the accommodation and are present around the park.

If you have concerns about pet allergies, please contact us before booking and we will be happy to help you decide whether Back of Beyond is suitable for your stay.
