To stay at Back of Beyond or to visit, you must be aged 18 or over. There are no exceptions to this rule.
Toilets, showers and amenities block
Our four heated toilet and shower blocks have had another revamp for the 2019 season. There are power-showers, ladies strip-wash cubicle, private/disabled shower room, hand-dryers and hairdryers.
Our facilities are open 24 hours a day and we have an extensive cleaning regime to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness.
There’s a disabled suite with easy access.
Indoor and outdoor washing up areas are located here, along with the warm water dog wash and electric charging station (see below).
Elsan toilet disposal points are nearby. All waste goes into our very own eco-friendly system.
Reception and shop
Call in at the Reception shop for essential groceries, and provisions. Our opening hours are 9am to 5pm in the quieter seasons and 8.30am to 6pm in the high season.
Our shop is stocked with local produce where possible, and we’re licensed to sell alcohol. Basic provisions such as tea, coffee, juice, bacon, eggs, milk, bread, etc. are available, so you can enjoy the following:
- A great selection of beers, ales, wines and local gin
- Self-service coffee machine serving Costa coffee
- Tea and treats, including our own Back of Beyond chocolate
- Back of Beyond honey from our onsite beehives
- Meat from Webb’s, an award winning local butcher
- Local bakers’ products
- Calor Gas – official stockist with a comprehensive range
- Free WiFi
- Camping and caravan needs
- Purbeck ice cream for humans and Billy &Margot’s nutritious ice cream for dogs!

Outside Reception there’s a seating area around our fish pond where you can relax or make use of the free Wifi while enjoying a coffee or an ice cream.
We offer a breakfast service of delicious freshly baked croissants, pain au chocolat, pain au raisin, and baguettes if pre-ordered the day before.

Whether you hire one from Reception or bring your own, please make sure you understand the safety requirements outlined on the Fire Pits and Barbecues page.
If you’re staying in accommodation without electric hookup, you can use the secure charging locker to charge up phones, tablets and small laptops. The locker has two 3-pin and two USB sockets, and costs 50p for 15 minutes. It’s located in the middle of the amenities block.
Arrivals and departures
Please check in on arrival as it is essential that we know the exact number of people in your party for our statutory obligations. Arrival times are 12pm to 7pm for touring and camping, or 2pm to 7pm for glamping. Please try to arrive before Reception closes (times given above). Check out time is 11am.
For touring and camping pitches, late arrivals and departure may be possible by prior arrangement, subject to availability – see charges on the Prices and Booking page.
We operate a secure barrier system at the park entrance. Please make sure you have a £10 cash deposit on arrival for the barrier card which gives you 24 hour access to the park.
Visitors over the age of 18 are welcome but must be signed in at Reception. We make a nominal charge for those staying over 2 hours. We may have to limit the number of visitors to the park at busy times, but please ask our staff as we will always try to accommodate your needs. We do not accept large groups or guests likely to compromise the peaceful park life. The maximum number of guests occupying any one pitch is 4. The maximum number of guests in any one glamping unit is 2.
Ringwood has a Waitrose, a Sainsbury’s and a Lidl. Ferndown has a large Tesco and Sainsbury’s, and a Lidl.
