Is there a shop and restaurant on site?

We have a licensed shop providing essentials, local produce and treats in the Reception building – see Essential Information for details. A fish and chips van and a pizza van visit the park in the summer – please check the posters or ask in Reception for details. We also have a new pop-up bar and host evenings with local breweries and drinks producers. 

Are there any pubs and restaurants close by?

There is a pub with a restaurant within easy walking distance and a nearby business with a takeaway. Details are on the Essential Information page. 

What facilities, amenities and communal areas does the park have?

At Back of Beyond, there are 30 unspoilt acres of for you to enjoy! We have 18 acres of woodland (ideal for dog walking), 2 wildlife lakes, grassland and heathland, with the River Moors bordering the park

Fishing is allowed in the River Moors from our site with the appropriate rod license, but this being a natural environment and Site of Special Scientific Interest, it does get frequented by natural predators! There’s also a 1/2-mile, 9-hole pitch & putt course and a petanque pitch. 

During the summer months local wildlife specialists visit the park with large birds of prey. 

The small shop in our Reception is fully licensed. We sell basic essentials and local produce, including honey from our own bees here. You can sit outside Reception by our carp pond, enjoy a coffee and use the free WiFi.

Where can I find information about the local area?

What time is Reception open?

It’s normally open between 9am and 5pm in the quieter seasons and between 8.30am and 6pm in the High Season. If it’s closed and you need assistance, please call the mobile number on the Reception sign.

What are check in and check out times?

Arrival times are 12pm to 7pm for touring and camping, or 2pm to 7pm for glamping. Please try to arrive before Reception closes (times given above). We do not accept arrivals after dusk. Check out time is 11am.

For touring and camping pitches, you may be able to pre-arrange an early arrival or late departure for an extra charge, subject to availability see Prices and Booking for details.

What time is quiet time?

Because Back of Beyond is for over 18s, it’s much quieter than most touring parks. Guests value the peacefulness of the park and we do ask for quiet between 10pm and 8am. But we make an exception for the birds, who are especially busy from April to June!

Are dogs allowed?

Yes! Dogs love it here!  We do ask that dogs be quiet and well behaved. They must be on the lead around the pitches but can explore our woodland off the lead. Dogs are not permitted in the lakes area because it is a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

Up to 2 dogs can stay in the shepherd huts, the medium pod and the lodges, but not in the yurt or large pods. If you’re touring or camping and want to bring more than 2 dogs, please contact us. Read more about dogs.

How do I make a booking?

Please check our tariffs on the Prices and Booking page or go to our online booking system. Alternatively, contact us at or call 01202 876 968.

What payments do you accept?

We accept debit card, credit card and BACS payment. We do not accept American Express or cheques. Please contact us if you would like to pay by bank transfer.

Can I make a reservation and pay later, or pay a deposit to make a booking?

For touring and camping, we require a deposit of £30 per week or part week to secure your booking. For glamping the deposit is £60. The deposit covers the administration charge of making the booking and is not refundable.

The balance must be paid at least 2 weeks before your stay. Please see Prices and Booking for details. Peak times get booked up in advance, so please secure the dates you want as soon as you can. Deposits are not refundable.

What if I need to cancel?

Please be aware that your deposit covers the cost of making your booking and so it is not refundable. If you have paid your balance in full and you cancel at least 14 days before your arrival date, we’ll refund the balance less the deposit. If you cancel less than 14 days before your arrival or you cut short your stay, we will not be able to offer a refund. Please read our Terms and Conditions and make sure that you’re covered by your own insurance policy. 

Are fire pits and barbecues allowed?

Yes! What better way to enjoy a relaxing evening?  Whether you hire one of our fire pits from Reception or bring your own, it’s important to follow the safety guidelines outlined on the page Fire Pits and Barbecues.

Can I book a particular pitch or the same pitch I had before?

When you make a booking, you are booking a type of pitch rather than a pitch number. This means that on arrival you will be given a choice of pitches if possible.

Do you have WiFi?

Because of our location, WiFi is limited. The signal is strongest in the Reception area and there is a booster at the amenities block. There’s no charge for accessing the WiFi. The signal for mobile phones is good throughout the park.

Is there a public transport nearby?

There’s a bus service to Ringwood from the bottom of our lane. Details are on the Essential Information page. Guests often get the bus into Ringwood and get a taxi back – ask for a number in Reception or go to the taxi rank in Ringwood’s main car park.

Can I charge an electric car at the park?

Because our hookups are 10amp, you’ll need to find a local charging point. There are plenty nearby and we’ve listed them on the page Electric Vehicle Charging
