We’re very much looking forward to welcoming you back to our park. But due to the COVID-19 pandemic we’ve had to make some essential changes to the way our park operates. These are in line with Government and industry recommendations.
The safety of our staff and customers is always of the upmost importance, and now even more so during this pandemic. Your co-operation is crucial to ensure a safe and enjoyable stay.
First, please rest assured that should your stay be affected by COVID-19, your booking will be covered by our Guarantee if:
- Our park has to close
- There are restrictions on travel from your postcode
- You, a member of your party or someone in your household tests positive for COVID-19 (we will need to see a copy of the NHS Isolation Note at the time of cancellation).
Please get in touch at any time before you are due to arrive and we will give you the following options:
- Transfer your booking to a future date
- Receive a credit note to use against a future holiday if you’re not sure what dates you’d like to move to
- Cancel your booking and receive a full refund.
Check in times are now strictly between 2pm-7pm. We are unable to offer any late arrivals, late check outs or early arrivals. Please do not arrive before 2pm as this could cause congestion or after 7pm as entry may be refused.
Contactless check in procedure
Once you arrive at our barrier please press the buzzer and wait for a response. Once access to the park has been granted, please drive into the parking area outside reception, remain inside your vehicle.
When someone is available, they will come to your vehicle and hand you your paperwork and barrier card which allows your contactless access in and out of the park. We will show you to your pitch, please follow the staff member in your vehicle. Pitches will be pre-allocated.
We are unable to allow any visitors to the park this year at any time.
Social distancing will apply at all times on the park. We advise that you stick to the current government guidelines with regards to social distancing and the ‘Rule of 6’ (see links below) and mixing with others that are not in your bubble.
The ‘Rule of 6’ introduced on 14 September 2020 means guests will not be permitted to gather in groups of more than six in the public areas. Our park rule is that no more than 4 can be on a pitch at any one time.
If you are in a small group we recommend that you use our new BBQ and picnic area on the golf course, or use the picnic area by the lake in order not to disturb neighbouring pitches.
Water stations will be provided with hand sanitisers which need to be used before and after each use.
Shower blocks and washing up facilities
If you have toilet facilities and washing up facilities in your caravan and motorhome you will be required to use these rather than the park’s.
If you don’t have your own facilities because you are in a tent, campervan or glamping accommodation, the shower blocks will be available to you with social distancing measures in place.
Reporting feeling unwell
If you have any symptoms of COVID-19 before you are due to arrive please contact the office. If at any time you become unwell or believe you have been exposed to COVID-19 whilst on the park, then you are to call NHS 111 and report it to a member of staff by calling reception. You need to remain in your accommodation and keep 2 metres away from anyone on the park.
Currently the Information Hut / Library will remain closed. There is, however, an Information Board at the entrance to the Pitch & Putt course, and please refer to our website which has extensive local information.
Whilst we can help by putting in place procedures to help to keep us all safe this is not only our responsibility, and everyone has a part to play. Government guidance needs to be followed and consideration to all is essential – please see the links to Government advice below for information.
Local communities in tourist areas have been reported as being very nervous regarding a sudden influx of people into their neighbourhoods. Please show consideration and understanding and come prepared with your provisions to avoid over stretching local shops.
Our reception shop is open and you will be required to wear a face mask in the shop. We are only allowing one family in the shop at a time and we are operating a cashless system.
We continue to stock essential provisions alongside ice creams, BBQ meats, milk, alcoholic drinks and ice to name a few items. And you can still order bread and morning pastries here as normal.
Outside food vendors
If the food vendors are operating, we will ask that you queue, order and pay following their requirements.
Essential items to bring
Due to the current limitations of our operation please make sure essential hygiene items such as soap, hand gel, gloves, toilet roll, disinfectant are brought with you. Don’t forget to bring a face mask if you want to go in the onsite shop – or any other shops!
If you are glamping, please bring your own crockery, cutlery, utensils, pots and pans as well as bedding. (We provide a cooking stove and kettle.)
Ventilation is very important in combatting the COVID-19 virus. We will therefore keep indoor communal areas as well ventilated as possible.
When you leave your glamping accommodation, please make sure all windows and doors are left as wide open as possible.
Please ensure that you carry hand wipes or hand sanitiser for the duration of your stay. Please use these when on the park, especially when touching keypads, door handles, garden gates etc.
Contactless check-out procedure
Departure is strictly before 11am to allow us time to prepare for the next guests. You will need to drive past reception and drop your barrier card into the mailbox next to the reception door. Here you can collect an exit only code and sign out using the form on the clip board. You will be asked to confirm that no one in your party has been ill whilst on the park.
Extra precautions we have taken
We have put screens up in the shop, added hand sanitiser at all water stations and in shower blocks, purchased a fogging machine to sanitise shower blocks and glamping units, changed cleaning products to EN14476 standards and implemented an even stricter cleaning regime.
We hope your stay goes smoothly
These are the procedures that we feel currently fit the requirements and running of the park. As the law evolves, and hopefully the pandemic is brought under closer control, this advice will be reviewed.
If you have had your booking(s) changed or cancelled during this crisis, we’d like to thank you for your support through this challenging time.
We feel sure that if we all work together to abide by these rules, then we can all expect smooth running and you can enjoy a lovely break with us here at Back of Beyond. We don’t want to be the ‘COVID police’ and we really want you to enjoy your stay, so we hope you understand our reasons for implementing these rules.

NHS COVID-19 App
We have our QR code for the app posted in our park. The app alerts you if you’ve visited a venue where you may have come into contact with coronavirus or if you’ve been near other app users who’ve tested positive. It also lets you know the level of risk in your area and helps you order a test.
